New Delhi : The air pollution picture of Delhi is quite gloomy. In a bid to combat this, a group of researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has developed a technology to reduce the harmful exhaust fume emitted from the Diesel Generators (DG) sets. The team developed ‘Chakr Shield’, a Retrofit Emission Control Device for DG sets and patented it. Coastal India to witness unprecedented job loss due to heat stress

New Delhi (India Science Wire): In a recently published study in the journal Nature Scientific Reports, it is estimated that there would be a decline of 35% in work performance in the east coast region of India by 2100 due to heat stress caused by extreme heat and humidity. This would be extended to most of the other regions of the country due to increasing anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations and other climate change related factors. Airborne transmission of the novel coronavirus is possible under certain conditions, cautions a study undertaken by the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB). The research was conducted to determine the transmission pattern of the virus in various enclosures in hospitals to assess the risks posed to healthcare workers. Air samples were collected from hospitals in Hyderabad and Mohali for the study. Initially, the novel coronavirus was considered to be spreading mainly by contact and droplets.
