JD Design Awards 2025 sets the ramp of creativity and innovation rolling at the show, at The Koramangala Club in Bengaluru on the 23rd of January, 2025. It was a prestigious form for the entry debut for the rising designers from JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru. The grand collections unveiled an inspiring mix of heritage, philosophy, and contemporary aesthetics.
- Imitated Art: Prerana C, Sania Khan, and Dhanusiya B G The Style Innovator Award was won by Prerana C, Sania Khan, and Dhanusiya B G for their imaginative collection Imitated Art. This collection bridges nostalgia aesthetics and a bold perspective by Gen Z; it brings something to the modern generation. As they give an innovative twist to the ancient pieces, there’s a reflection in their works, which hits very well today with the current generation. They combine history well with innovation; it is always true that one may use their past as a springboard for creative expression of the future.
- Aval: In Praise of Tamil Nadu
Shruthi A. has done her bridal collection, “Aval,” on the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu. This is art in itself, intricate in details, and eternally elegant. The designs superbly filled in the gap between the past and the present by upholding the legacy of Tamil Nadu but with a modern twist in a fashion narrative. This is the face of cultural preservation as an integral component in current design.
- Urban Bloom: Sophistication Meets Nature
Winners of the “Best Fashion Forward Collection Award,” P. V. Nagaimpana, Chalsi K. J., and Firdous Fathima, mesmerized everyone with “Urban Bloom.” This collection artfully combined urban sophistication with the tranquillity of nature. Their eco-conscious designs highlighted the coexistence of city life and natural elements, offering a refreshing perspective on future fashion.
- Lunar Grace by Janya K. M.
Janya K. M. brings celestial wonders to your table through Lunar Grace. The entire design is a mystique show of the moon, thereby allowing her to capture the elegance of the cosmos in every stitch. Janya is known to celebrate the beauty of the night sky through these, which she brought to life as an awe-inspiring story in fabric, colour, and form, as they have both the look of being beautiful and otherworldly.
- Sweet Stitch by Lakshmi S.
Lakshmi S.’s Sweet Stitch collection is a joyful celebration of playful design and inventive colour. Inspired by the whimsical world of sweets, this collection takes candy-coloured hues, intricate patterns, and some playful textures to bring that eye-catching sweetness to fashion. With imagination blazing, Lakshmi rethinks sweets as the perfect muse for dress-making and delivers garments that are both delightful and stylish. At the same time, each design embodies the fun, playful, and creative point for fashion to become elegant and effortless.
- Vita in Vacanza by Sidhi S. Parmar
Presenting her collection entitled Vita in Vacanza, Siddhi S byParmars exudes vibrant testimony to travelling freedom and the spirit of going on holiday inspired by feelings of escapade and adventure. For the stylish woman in quest of that chic getaway look, Vita in Vacanza takes a little lightness within travelling, always ensuring style-friendly appeal is held. Sidhi has beautifully entwined her love of adventure with ingenuity and ensured every outfit from her collections reflects the sense of discovering a place.
These collections showcased the divergent talent and creative imaginations of the budding designers from the JD Institute. From heritage bridal wear to a science fiction kind of narrative that was deep, each had its own distinct story to say. The JD Design Awards 2025 celebrated such visions as resplendent and significant enrichment, reminding everyone of the power of innovation, cultural preservation, and sustainable fashion.
